Jump' Jig was created by Fiona Holmes who is the principal teacher of the McAleer Dance School in Australia and has been for the past 16 years. Fiona has been a qualified and registered teacher of the CLRG since 2003 and an adjudicator since 2016. She also completed a Bachelor of Education in 2004 and is a registered teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.Fiona is the mother of Lyla, an original Baby Jig student, and Rory. Lyla and Rory have and continue to inspire Fiona to produce Jump’n Jig and everything it has to offer.
She decided that teaching the fundamental basics and giving pre schoolers the passion to be an Irish Dancer was the most sensible way to start and so, began the very first preschool Irish dance class. It was an immediate success and Fiona soon had to create levels to accommodate the vast difference in development of children aged 2 to 5 years. After years 7 years of trial and error, she developed the Jump’n Jig program.
